Playing Up

SBA Rules/Process for Playing Up One Grade Level

  • A proposal must be submitted by the parent of any youth that requests their athlete to play for the grade above their current grade level. The proposal must include any family matters that need to be considered, and the reason you feel this move would be beneficial to the player and teams involved.

  • Proposals will be accepted up until 1 day prior to tryouts each season.

  • The SBA President and Coordinator will determine if the youth is considered to be in the top three players of the upper grade, and is ready to play at the higher level.

  • The SBA President and Coordinator will make a recommendation to the SBA Board for final approval.
